After a short stack of pancakes, I took a trip to the gym this morning. I’ve found going early Sunday morning is extremely peaceful, as it’s always pretty quiet. I like working out alone, not really sure why.
I did nothing but cardio; I spent 40 minutes (plus 2 more for cool down) on the elliptical and burned 642 calories. That’s the longest I’ve ever spent on one machine. Best of all, I wasn’t tired when I finished. Sure, I was drenched in sweat, but my lungs and legs could handle more. When I first started going to the gym two weeks ago, I could barely do 20 minutes on a lower resistance level (currently at 7 out of 20).
My how things change…
Before I went to the gym this morning I synched my iPhone/iPod with some new tunes I bought. Maybe that’s why I wasn’t tired — I was rocking it out to the original Rocky Soundtrack.

1/23/2010…..websuffering and found you “Tyler”..You look WOW!!! and from an Elliptical! ..My co-worker jsut a baby and has a 2year old also. So her elliotical was in her room and yes with clothes on it. So she said I can take it home and use it until she was ready to get in shape again. WOW I thought…now my extra 60 lbs. will come off faster! But I at a WALL until reading your story. It has been two weeks now and I’m only to do….3 min. here and later during the day 3 min. again and 3 min. while dinner is cooking. Love the way my Bye-Bye arms feel and my thighs feel and yes heart rate is Up! which is good! I think from reading your story… I need to start at 1 or 2 reietance then work my way up to 7…..Maybe then my time will be 30 min – 45 min. instead of 3 min, here and there!………
