TGI Friday’s Chicken & Shrimp

February 7, 2009

This is the best tasting diet meal I’ve ever had.

It’s chicken and shrimp grilled on a skillet complete with mash potatoes, grilled onions, peppers, and tomatoes.  If you’ll notice on the menu, it comes with American and Mexican cheeses melted on top.  I’d strongly recommend having the meal without the cheeses (as pictured above);  trust me, it’s still good.

Even with the cheeses, this meal is only 400 calories (but the cheeses are all fat). Without it, I’m sure its well below 300.  Unfortunately, TGI Friday’s doesn’t list nutritional information for all of it’s menu items.

Tip: Start to love mashed potatoes.  Sure, you don’t want to eat them as a side with every meal, but when you’re out at a restaurant and don’t want broccoli or a vegetable mix, mashed potatoes are an awesome choice.  I’ve traded my love for french fries for a love of mashed potatoes, just be careful with the butter some places put into their mix.
