I lost nearly 150 pounds by counting calories. I once weighed 344.2 pounds, now around 200. My story has been told on CNN, CBS, and Newsweek and will soon be in a book.

Hi Tyler,
You have stated some very good reasons for losing your weight and I believe the first one is really Major. My reasons aren't the same but the first is the important one. I want to set an example for my wife whose health is horrible.
I am 60 years old and was over 50 lbs heavier that I would like to be. I started adding raw fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and living foods to my diet in Sept. of this year. I try to maintain at least a 60/40 ratio and other than raw, eat mostly cooked vegetables and whole grains. Yes I do eat some of my favorites like spaghetti, chili, vegetable beef soup on a chilly day and others but I try very hard to stay away from all fried meats.
As of about a week ago I had lost 20lbs without any type or exercise program, exercise is something I am trying to start adding in. I don't go around hungry and probably eat more sweets than I did before I starting changing my lifestyle. One of the things I really like is a green smoothie. I mix fruits and leafy green vegetables together with honey, maple syrup or stevia leaf in a blender and drink about 24 to 40 oz. each day.
I am trying to keep up with some of what I do on my blog, linked to my name, if you are interested. Keep up the good works and give your baby a kiss from me.
O, I almost forgot to mention I have a 9 year old granddaughter that lives with us to help me stay active and give me motivation. Also to this point my lifestyle change has had no effect on my wife's eating habits.

I just came across your website today and I just have to say thank you. You are the only person, I've found, who has said everything that I have felt...the movie theater, the booths, wanting to be even more confident and outspoken.....your comments, posts and goals are so dead on it made me cry. I have lost 42 pounds and I am, for the first time in a LONG time, under 300 lbs (now at 299).... My goal weight is 150 and for the first time EVER I've been able to really stick with it by cutting calories, eating well-rounded meals and working out 6-7 days a week. Reading your story has given me even more inspiration, I'm so grateful and I don't feel alone. I feel like someone really gets it!!!
Keep up your amazing goal, I'm so happy for you! And again, thanks. :.)

Tyler, I love your blog. I found it by researching Ellipticals. You're a great inspiration!!! I started the ugly machine last Saturday and did 2 minutes on level one. Six days later I did 12 minutes and I am 4.8lbs lighter!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Hold your daughter close to your healthly heart there is no greater gift!

Your blog is such an inspiration. And seeing that American Beauty is one of my top 10 all time faves (I'm a sucker for movie trivia and almost always get 100 on this movie) your blog brings me closer to actually wanting to do something about my weight. Now if I could just start that would be nice. Denial can be deadly. When will I stop saying "I'll start tomorrow"?
