Two months ago I was tipping the scale at close to 350 pounds. I couldn’t run to the end of my driveway without getting winded.
Today, I stayed on the elliptical for 92 minutes and burned 1,363 calories on level 14. When I was finished, I stepped off, wiped the sweat off the machine, and walked to my car like I normally do. It was just another day at the office.
I could do 92 minutes everyday.
Sure, I have the ability to, just not the time. So, instead of exercising more, I’ll simply increase the intensity and burn more calories per minute. When I go to the gym on Monday, I’ll be at level 15 out of 20.
Here are some pics from today (click for larger images):
Thanks to everyone who posted a comment and pushed me so hard. We’ll definitely do something like this again soon.

Great job! I finished mine…only burned 1200 or so calories…had to back down the intensity…pictures of my heart rate monitor on my site. Thanks for the inspiration!
Congrats! I find that when you’re exercising hard with all the hard breathing and pounding rate, you get a greater appreciation for being alive, kinda like turning up the volume on music.
Believe it or not, pumping the elliptical for 92 minutes is its own reward, losing the weight is just a fringe benefit.
Awesome workout! And your progress is absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work… and keep blogging about it… because you are truly an inspiration! :)
I only burn between 500 and 800 calories doing 60 to 90 minutes on my elliptical machine, but I do manage to do it mostly daily. It feels good to do a decent workout.
And congrats on improving your fitness so much!
I have a question – when you start up the eliptical, do you put in your weight? My eliptical adjusts the intensity based on my weight and 15 is not realistic!
Klark — I put in my weight. My elliptical also adjusts the intensity based on my weight, which is why I burn less and less calories every workout.
That’s why I have to keep increasing intensity.
Good for you! Very inspiring story and blog. Keep up the good work.
Congradulation. You are doing awsome. Keep up the good work.
Way to go! That is so awesome, and I’m with Chubby Chick, keep up the blogging about your journey. you are true inspiration. Hell I don’t even know you and I’m proud of you!

Just found this site.
It has inspired me to make some changes in my life.
Thinking about trying (since I’m so addicted) a 1-soda-a-day limit and drinking water any other time I drink something.
Wanting to do a “month” of something. 30 committed days, and see where it takes me.
Congrats! I think I need to get one of those elliptical things…. !!
I notice you haven’t posted in several days. Does this mean you’re a dad?
Not yet smash, it’s soon :)
Oh Honey,
You are already a dad. You are already taking responsibility for your health and your family!
Good Job!
