Week 13: Weigh-in Results

April 22, 2009

I don’t have a cunning introduction this week:

April 22 weight: 279.6
April 15 weight: 283.6
April 08 weight: 289.2
April 01 weight: 289.6
Mar 25 weight: 296.2
Mar 18 weight: 302.6
Mar 11 weight: 306.6
Mar 04 weight: 312.0
Feb 25 weight: 320.2
Feb 18 weight: 324.0
Feb 11 weight: 328.2
Feb 04 weight: 333.0
Jan 28 weight: 338.2
Starting weight (Jan 21): 344.2

4 pounds lost in the past 7 days, 64.6 pounds total in 13 weeks!

While I’m definitely not complaining about losing 4 pounds, I know I could’ve lost more this week.  I’ve had some very sloppy meals the past several days and have been pretty inactive outside of the gym.

I’ll step up my game and see if we can get under the big 275 next week.

My iPhone was dead this morning, so I couldn’t take a picture of the scale.    I will upload my video progress later on this evening, though.

Congrats man. At this stage, still losing 4-5 pounds per weigh in should be considered an achievement.

Your body is likely trying to fight off some of the weight loss because things are changing so fast, so to continually keep losing is a good thing.

Even people on the Biggest Loser, with the professional trainers, long workout sessions, and all the healthy food they could ask for at hand, still have weeks where they lose 0 if not gain a little.

Probably good if you’re cheating on meals here and there, since that can be more how you live once you reach your target. Don’t deprive yourself, just don’t do it as much as you did when bigger.

I’m about 15lbs over your starting weight, time to join in on losing weight soon.

I’m not on a very good diet at all. I’m actually starting a new thing this week — I’m logging my calories/food from Monday to Friday every week.

It’ll show you how unhealthy I eat :)

Diet or not, you’re doing something that’s working.

Hell, maybe you’re onto something new. Document it and write a book lol

You’re doing awesome. You’re almost down to my current weight, and I don’t know if I can let your journey keep from inspiring me to try to match what you’re doing.

Last week I started another challenge. http://hundredpushups.com/ has inspired me to give it a try. I’m on week 2 now, and the initial pain has faded. Now it’s just a matter of keeping with the program. Can I challenge you to join, Tyler? Your muscles are probably already better than mine, so I don’t think you’d have a problem with it.

Oh, and another thing. What are you using to count calories? I’ve been using the downloadable software from http://fitday.com . It’s impressive, though I have to manually add in nutrition information from restaurants.

Using that program to count calories has proven something – you can eat anything you want… as long as you don’t eat too many calories. I lost weight eating McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, etc. by carefully counting calories and not eating more than my target daily goal.

People who haven’t tried counting calories don’t understand how it changes your whole outlook on food when you get to the end of the day and think to yourself “I have 450 calories left to spend today. So, I’ll make it the best tasting 450 calories I can get.” You can either eat lots of diet crap that adds up to 450, or you can eat something small but delicious… that adds up to 450. If you can handle eating SMALL, you can still eat what you want…

And your stomach WILL GET USED TO the smaller portions.. trust me. And you will be happy with food again, and still keep loosing weight.

Tyler, your progress is not only inspiring, but it’s a kick in the ass for me to finish my weight loss. It’s amazing how much work you put in and you definitely earn every ounce of your results.

Questions for you:
1) Have you noticed psychological changes so far? Increased confidence, self-image, etc?
2) Have you bought new clothes yet? How much have you changed size-wise?
3) How old are you?

Thanks!
