899.2 Calories Burned in 61 Minutes

May 22, 2009 | Elliptical Workouts, Workout Pledges

Thanks to everyone who participated in the workout pledge!  While I was hoping to reach 99 minutes, 61 minutes isn’t anything to scoff at;  I burned 900 calories on the elliptical machine tonight thanks to you guys:

This was a lot tougher than I though it would be — I was running on fumes for the last 10 minutes.  Also, I’m still really dehydrated (90 minutes after the workout) due to the enormous amount of sweat I generated.

Water never tasted so good.

After 60 minutes, you probably should go with some type of Gatorade to rehydrate. If you’re worried about the calories, you can get the low calorie G2 variant. If you give it a try, you’ll notice a big difference from rehydrating with water alone. (Less than 45 minutes and water is probably all you need.)

You are such an inspiration! Great job! Hope you’re resting and rehydrating…

Agree with Nick r on the water vs. Gatorade tips. When you’re at the grocery store, you can find powdered Gatorade. It’s much less expensive to buy it that way than it is one bottle at a time. You can also make it half-strength if you are concerned about calories.

Bravo on the 61 minutes! :D

Yea, Tyler!!! (Are those your skinny little hips in those photos?) Now, just to show I’m a woman of my word, I”ll add my 3 minutes and 20 seconds to my workout like I promised. Hey, it’s the least I can do. You’re welcome.

I’ll definitely have to get some Gatorade. Probably is, anything other than water tastes extremely sweet.

Those hips aren’t that skinny, mom.

Tyler, it tastes sweet to me too. That’s why I make it half strength. You can experiment with different brands. S0me are less sweet than others. You can also try adding a few drops of lemon or lime juice to it to cut the sweetness (works better with some flavors than others!)
