    I have a relative who is interested in trying to lose weight. However, he has knee problems that prevent him from being able to run, and perhaps do eliptical and exercise bike. What kinds of exercise can he do?

    Dude… Good work.
    I just hit the 90lbs lost mark (from 366lbs in 11/08) yesterday myself and I’m in complete agreement with your advice to others.
    It’s not as hard as people make it out to be. After you do this long enough (about 2 weeks for me) you get cranky if you DON’T go to the gym.

  27. Tyler, you rock! I lost a lot of weight 10 years ago and have kept it off, and I agree with your philosophy – that you simply have to find a combination of exercise and food that creates a calorie deficit. Keep up the great work – maybe we’ll run a marathon together someday.

    Tyler, you’ve come such a long way from when the Consumerist first covered your story and I have to say I am very proud of how far you’ve come! You’re really inspiring a lot of people! I too decided to get back into the gym recently. I hope to lose about 40 lbs from my starting weight. So far, I’m down 8 but just pulled a muscle in my back, so I’ll be out for a while. Here’s another 15 secs!
