My body has changed a lot over the last 100 pounds.

(Check out more weight loss pictures.)
I take up a lot less space. I have a longer hang time. I fit into clothes I haven’t been able to since high middle school. But those are the obvious changes.
You already know those.
What do you don’t know is that I asked my wife a couple weeks ago what the “bone was in my butt.” She said it was my tailbone. I knew of the tailbone, but I’ve never felt mine. I can’t remember ever feeling it back there.
I can also feel my collar bone and my pelvic bone. I see veins in my hands and arms when I get my blood flowing. I see extremely tight muscles in my legs forming and can see muscles growing in my arms.
Losing 100 pounds is a lot like dating and exploring a boyfriend/girlfriend’s body for the first time. It’s amazing that I can explore my own body and find muscles and bones I’ve never felt before. It’s as if I’m not familiar with my own body, a body I’ve supposedly lived in for almost two decades.
That’s the thing, though. I haven’t.

That before/after is really amazing. :)
Think about it next time you are in an elevator with people. It’s a whole different feeling!
I know what you mean. When I was crossing my halfway point in my weight loss goal, I noticed things I didn’t know I could have before. Muscles that I didn’t notice, things I didn’t feel, etc…etc… It’s a great feeling though.
I’m just short of 50 pounds lost and I can already feel so many differences…
Congrats!
I LOVE your dating analogy. It is so true. Wait until your butt hurts from lack of cushion.

Tyler, what scale do you use? Is it just at the gym or did you buy one for the house?
An Escali. I can get you the direct link to it, if you’d like. Just send me an e-mail.
I feel the same way Tyler. I’ve lost 71 lbs and the differences in my body are amazing. Noticing your skeletal structure is freaky in a cool way!
T! I love this post! But what’s a tailbone? Do I have one, too?
More than likely.
Congrats, Tyler! This is so amazing! I’d bet tha flying in an airplane is so much easier, too. Or going to any sporting/cultural event, even. (Man those seats area so small for a 300lb+ guy.) You’ll have to tell us how that feels now that you’ve lost 100 pounds! I’m at almost 50 pounds lost myself, and haven’t noticed too much, but know I will once I get to 100 lost. Again, good work, and keep it up & off!
At almost 70 lbs. lost, I’m having the same experience. Little things please and amuse me, like being able to wrap a bath towel all the way around myself, or moving up the seat in my car.
I was really taken back by the improvement in your posture across those pics. Look how straight and tall and proud you stand now. I’m sure you don’t even move like your old self anymore. Great job, bud.
Tyler – Have you noticed your weight loss leveling off? I have lost 25 pounds and still have about 35-45 more to go. I’ve been able to keep the 25 off for a few months but can’t seem to get beyond that mark. If you have, what have you done different to keep going?
I’ve noticed it levelling off. I used to lose 5+ pounds a week, now if I get 3 I consider it a good week.
I haven’t done anything different to keep going. You can’t lose 5 pounds forever, it’s just impossible.
You also stand taller and smile more. I’m proud of you for choosing to live, not just for your daughter, but for your whole family. I know what that must mean to them.
Tyler, those pictures are amazing. Like you, I have noticed lots of changes in my own body, and it is nice to experience that. Congrats dude – you are doing awesome!
Wow what an amazing difference!! Absolutely incredible
I’m with Will – look at the difference in your posture! Your inter-skeletal system is now healthier not just because its carrying around 100 less pound but also because you’re able to stand and move in natural ways.
Congratulations, and I wish you many more wonderful discoveries.
Simply amazing…. and I’ll echo the other comments about you standing taller and straighter. ^5
My tail bone seems larger than it ever was too. I was in good shape and pretty lean in my college days. But now my tail bone seems to protrude and I sometimes sit on it and it hurts.
Amazing!! People like you are an inspiration. Keep it up. Betty xt
