Letter from SC Governor Mark Sanford

I usually don’t look forward to opening mail addressed from the “State of South Carolina.”  It usually has something to do with jury duty, taxes, parole, etc.

Not this time:

I’m extremely honored and proud for my blog and weight loss to have received the attention of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.

Politics aside, Mark Sanford supports a “healthy” South Carolina and has done many things to help promote such.  This includes participating in the United States Marine Corps Mud Run, which he apparently did just a few weeks ago.

As soon as registration opens, I plan on joining him in 2010.

  1. You received a letter from Mark Sanford? A governor? That is amazing, you should be really proud! I bet you couldn’t have imagined that in January.

    1. Yes, a governor. I couldn’t have imagined it in the slightest. I thought I’d get an occasional e-mail from my mom every once in a while, but that’s about it.

    1. I love you “commoners.” You guys fuel me. You’ve been here since near the beginning when only a handful of people read the blog and I’ll always be extremely grateful for you and others.

    1. I’m trying man, I’m trying. It was a tough weekend, had a little too many calories. Looking forward to seeing what the weigh-in has to bring Wednesday.

  2. That is awesome Tyler! Wow, so damn incredible. He is right. You made a decision to change your life and you are living that every day. You should be so proud of yourself.

  3. I just have to say this again….Youreblog was one of first blogs that I found that was actually a complete success story. You’ve taught and inspired so many. I’m excited to see what can happen in a years time. Right now I’m just foccussing on the day to day. Focus Focus Focus. Congats regarding this huge honor.

    1. It’s not a success story yet. I still look in the mirror and realize I’m overweight. As someone said before in these comments, it’s not a success story until I’m finished.

Day to day is the best we can do. Keep it up!
