Somehow, I’ve managed to lose 125 pounds.
November 11 weight: 218.6
November 04 weight: 219.4
October 28 weight: 220.6
October 21 weight: 222.4
October 14 weight: 223.4
I’ve lost 0.8 pounds in the last 7 days and 125.6 pounds in 42 weeks. Want stats from past weeks? Check out my entire 42 week weight loss progress.
I want to type it again: I’ve lost 125 pounds in 42 weeks. Forget weeks, just the sheer fact I’ve managed to lose 125 pounds period is hard to believe.
You’ll notice I’m not weighing in on my old Escali scale. During the weekend I woke up and it was non-responsive — while it does have a 5-year warranty, I can’t go without weighing myself for weeks while it’s being repaired/replaced. I hated to see her go, but I just decided to go out and buy a new digital scale, a Healthometer “contemporary design” (glass) scale.
I love it: I step on it. It gives me my weight. It works.
I know some of you are struggling with your weight loss and whatever number you’re trying to lose may seem insurmountable. But trust me, it’s not. I had to start at week one, just like you. Our goals and methods may differ, that’s it.
Week one. Such a long time ago.

I think that is worthy of a happy dance. If you do not have said happy dance, I suggest you make one up, STAT.
Congrats, Tyler. You’ve come a loooong way and become more of an inspiration everyday.
Thanks, Steve. Your comments inspire me! I love knowing other people are benefiting from my weight loss, as well. It’s humbling and encouraging.
125 big ones! I love it! I know what you mean about the scale. I’d go whackadoo if I had to go a few days or a week without weighing myself. Ironic how, at the same time, weighing myself daily often makes me nuts! I can’t win! But enough about me…congrats! You’re still doin’ it.
Yeah, I can’t wait for X weeks while the scale is off in some factory in Idaho. I need to weigh-in!
Excellent job. I can’t wait until I catch up to you.
You’ll catch up to me, just keep on coming!
You DID manage to lose 125 pounds in under 12 months, you should be extremely proud of yourself! I am sure your wife is proud as well. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Losing 125 pounds is an amazing thing to still say and hear, but I don’t think I’ll get tired of it anytime soon. I’m proud, but I’m also very aware that it took a lot of work and that I could just as easily start sliding backward and regain this weight. That’ll be the next challenge.
That is so great to say! I’m really proud of you for sticking it through. That is certainly an accomplishment! I’m planning on hitting 100 in the next couple of weeks–all thanks to your inspiration, actually!
Wow…um…apparently, I love to use exclamation marks today. Yikes.
It’s not thanks to me, it’s thanks to you! I didn’t make any sacrifices for you, c’mon! It’s all you.
CONGRATS!
Fantastic! Keep blazing that trail for us.
I’m starting week 18 and have lost 77lbs.
Week 18. 77 pounds. That’s pretty friggin’ amazing.
Congrats Tyler! My fiancee found out I read your blog and has “twisted my arm” in to starting our own joint progress blog.
Thanks for such inspiring posts! You’re almost there!
Congrats! Let me know the link to your blog when you get it up.
Great going Tyler. Keep it up! I’m still working on my own goal. I started at 371.4 pounds in July, 106 days later (yesterday) I weighed in at 311.6.
That’s pretty fast, Brian! Keep up that progress. What’s your ultimate goal?
Approximately 160-170 pounds, but I won’t decide till I get close. I’m just under 5’8″
Tyler you’re so inspiring! I love reading your weigh-in results as well as your calorie updates. I started my own blog thingie too….you inspire everyone!
Congrats on the loss! You are flying towards 200! I’m still losing, slowly but surely. Will this be your first Thanksgiving on the new lifestyle? If so do you have any plans to avoid a gain or are you taking a few days off? I’m gonna try to eat till I’m satisfied and not overdo it. Which is easy for me…it’s the leftovers I have a problem with!
This is my first Thanksgiving on my new lifestyle — I started in January. I’ll be fine though, I’ll just eat what I want that Thursday/Friday and resume that following Monday with healthy eating. A couple of days of “letting loose” isn’t going to hurt anything.
Keep in mind, there’s a difference between just eating what you want and pigging out!
Good job as always! So Thanksgiving’s two weeks away. Have any recipe alternatives waiting in the wings?
Pun intended? :)
Turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, sweet tea, and chocolate pie. That’s my recipe :)
Congratulations!! You have done so well, keep it up!
Thanks Aimee!
Congrats! I love reading about your success!
And I LOVE seeing the delicious food on your blog.
WOOOW I had forgotten what you looked like on week one. Your progress has been truly amazing.
Yeah, sometimes I forget to. It’s good to keep remembering ourselves where we came from. It’s good motivation to keep on trucking.
Congratulations BTW !! Awesome/ Inspiring results….
Do you work out everyday?
How many calories do you burn at everywork out?
I just made a post about this today (Friday). Calorie wise, I burn anywhere from 150-400 calories.
Hey T~
I love Wednesdays. Its so much fun to see your progress. I myself ran off the road for awhile and I’m just now getting back to it. I set a goal that was too far in the distance and I lost sight of my day to day. Once my day to day is a routine again I’ll look forward but, for now I’ll baby step my way through the day.
Hey it worked for What about Bob right?
Sometimes I love Wednesdays, but not always. It doesn’t matter what you did yesterday, just start back again today on the right track. That’s all that matters!
