I’ll keep liking my new scale as long as it keeps giving me numbers like these.
November 18 weight: 217.2
November 11 weight: 218.6
November 04 weight: 219.4
October 28 weight: 220.6
October 21 weight: 222.4
I’ve lost 1.4 pounds in the last 7 days and 127 pounds in 43 weeks. Want stats from past weeks? Check out my entire 43 week weight loss progress.
(Video to be added in the next day or so, PC under repair)
The scale is getting so low these days it’s surreal. 127 pounds lost? That’s such an ungodly number and I have no idea how that scale reads 217.2 pounds.
Not much change in my lifestyle to report this week (well, other than the fact I’ve lost 117 pounds). I’m exercising 20 to 40 minutes a night, making sure I run my 3 minutes at 6 mph. I’m trying to stay under 2,000 calories on the weekdays and around (preferably under) 2,500 Friday and Saturday.
That’s pretty much the plan until the end.
With that being said — as Sandra asked, what’s the plan at the end?

Isn’t the end supposed to be live happily (and healthy) ever after?
It absolutely is. But with or without the blog?
So…what happens after 150 lbs and that 10 minute mile? Any plans to follow?
I have a marathon in the spring and the mud run next fall, but other than that I don’t have any other fitness related goals.
Fantastic, man.
That’s incredible! I can’t even imagine being at a weight that low. I’d have to remember back to age 12 or so.
Me too.
Hey…I just found your site. You have done an amazing job. Keep it up!!!
Good job, buddy! You’re getting so close to your goal. What IS next? Tell us what you’ve been thinking about.
Oh, and btw – I gained four pounds this week. Dammit – I’ve been gaining and losing the same five pounds for two months now, lol. As soon as I started running distance, my metabolism freaked out. I’m back at 224. I don’t know if I’ll be able to have any significant loss til after the marathon, so I’m recalibrating my expecations. Just focusing on getting ready for the race now, and I’ll come back and finish the weight after.
I was thinking about walking away from 344 Pounds, to be honest. 200+ posts is a lot of work.
Come back down, man! Hopefully, I’ll be waiting for you at the bottom. What’s your ultimate weight loss goal?
Another awesome week! Congrats!
Thanks, Steve! I’m watching you, too.
Congrats! 217 was my starting weight in August, and I’ve lost my way down to 182. I’ve got another twelve to go!
Congrats on the weight loss!
Tremendous. Whose blog are we gonna read when you totally disappear?? lol…keep up the great work!
Love it, Craig!
Shameless self promotion here:
YOU CAN READ MINE! http://shewriteslikeagirl.com
:)
Yeah, what she said. You can read hers. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet, though.
Gee, T. Thanks for giving everyone your permission to read my blog.
Well, I think its obvious…once he reaches his goal 344pounds.com will become a weight maintenence and fitness site.
If we can hold his a** accountable to lose this weight, I’m sure we could hold him accountable to a few marathons and maybe even an ultra marathon.
Jus’ sayin’…
Tyler, I just loves ya. (sorry, Mrs. Tyler, but I do…but probably in a different, more platonic way than you do, so no worries)
This is great. Keep on losing!
I hope so!
The plan at the end is play with your kids and then your grandkids and be able to catch them as they run around. To not have hip/knee replacements and coronary bypass and angioplasty. The plan is to just stay awesome and run around like a 5 year old for as long as you can.
That sounds like a good plan to me, Kate :)
I’ll miss you if you give up the blog, but as far as fitness goals I find that new ones present themselves to me now. I learn about hikes I want to do, I think it might be fun to learn to ski, there’s a really pretty bike ride I’ll do in the summer…
Whatever you decide, you started this blog for you. If you feel you need it, keep it up. If not, put it aside. :-)
Since this blog is kind of your accountability, I don’t think you should give it up! Maybe you could just cut down posting to once or twice a week?
Also, congrats again this week.
Well, to me, it would seem that the next step would be what it like to maintain and/or build those “big, strong muscles” you’ve mentioned.
What will your diet and exercise be like once you’ve reached your goal? Will you slip back, or can you beat the odds and keep it off?
I started 6 months after you and I’m sure curious about what you’ll do when you reach that mythical goal.
Don’t give up the blog! Maintaining your weight takes just as much work as losing it in the first place and of course we love hearing from you :)
Have to think leaving the blog as soon as you reach your goal probably isn’t the best idea. Maintaining that weight loss will likely be a life long endeavor, and it might be beneficial to have this site to come to and post on occasion how well the maintaining weight is going.
When I finally reach that point, and I’m a long way from that, I plan on at least continuing to post small updates to show that I’m keeping the weight off and help keep me from slipping and gaining it back.
But we all have our own paths to walk, so you need to pick the one best for you.
Ha, I knew it could be done!! Dude, you are awesome!! Your blog is inspiring to follow. I would love to be 100 lbs lighter by this time next year. Keep up the good work, I’ll be following….
