I lost nearly 150 pounds by counting calories. I once weighed 344.2 pounds, now around 200. My story has been told on CNN, CBS, and Newsweek and will soon be in a book.

Have to think leaving the blog as soon as you reach your goal probably isn't the best idea. Maintaining that weight loss will likely be a life long endeavor, and it might be beneficial to have this site to come to and post on occasion how well the maintaining weight is going.

When I finally reach that point, and I'm a long way from that, I plan on at least continuing to post small updates to show that I'm keeping the weight off and help keep me from slipping and gaining it back.

But we all have our own paths to walk, so you need to pick the one best for you.

Well, I think its obvious...once he reaches his goal 344pounds.com will become a weight maintenence and fitness site.

If we can hold his a** accountable to lose this weight, I'm sure we could hold him accountable to a few marathons and maybe even an ultra marathon.

Jus' sayin'...

Don't give up the blog! Maintaining your weight takes just as much work as losing it in the first place and of course we love hearing from you :)

Well, to me, it would seem that the next step would be what it like to maintain and/or build those "big, strong muscles" you've mentioned.

What will your diet and exercise be like once you've reached your goal? Will you slip back, or can you beat the odds and keep it off?

I started 6 months after you and I'm sure curious about what you'll do when you reach that mythical goal.
