I lost nearly 150 pounds by counting calories. I once weighed 344.2 pounds, now around 200. My story has been told on CNN, CBS, and Newsweek and will soon be in a book.

"Today is Day 1"

Awesome outlook. I, too, am restarting working out after injury... had a bad back injury at work that killed me for 2 years. Fixed, got released for exercise so I can stop being a fat lazy slob, got through the hell of the 1st 2 weeks of restarting exercise... and...?

BAM some idiot slammed into my car while I was at a stoplight, gave me a concussion. Not allowed to let my HR get high... which is sort of the point of exercise. Finally got past that 2 weeks ago, spent another week in hell re-restarting... and then our stationery bike imploded with exciting shattering of plastic and computer parts. GAH! The universe hates me!

Ok, then... the gym about 20 miles away has free 14-day trial.... Wish me luck....

16 pound gained over just a single weekend?

You managed to eat in excess of 56,000 calories? Is that even humanly possible?

I know everyone is saying water weight and its probably true but I can't understand why you've been so severely punished for cheating over the weekend? I was ill this week and cheated every single day (i didn't binge but I ate what I wanted) with zero exercise and still lost a pound...I'm usually losing 6 pounds a week but I expected to gain this week..

Is there something else going on here? Do you think your metabolism has been slowed so badly that even indulging yourself a little bit can screw you up?

It's just bizarre..I've heard water weight fluctuate a few pounds here and there but 16 pounds of water weight seems unrealistic..

Sorry about the result...It sucks to be hit that hard but i'm finding it hard to wrap my head around it...

I weighed myself Monday morning and was 5lbs heavier than Friday. I am a 130lb girl, so 5lbs to me is about 10lbs to you. I ate and drank a lot this weekend so I did expect it. I weighed myself today and actually lost 7lbs since Monday. The weight you gained will come off quickly. It is water weight, waste, etc. I am not advocating weekend binges, but I do think that sometimes it is good to shock your body a little. If you constantly restrict calories, it will get used to it (that is how I at least make myself feel better about cheat day). It works for me and I continue to loose even with a cheat day.

STOP beating yourself so bad. Everybody falls off track and over eats once in a while. You just gained water weight. I'm sure you know there's a whole bunch of salt in fast food. Just go back to your regular eating habits and drink your water, all should be fine. You probably gained two to three pounds the most the rest is water weight.
