Anything Worth Doing is Hard
Eat less calories and you’ll lose weight. Easy, right?
I think most folks have the determination and motivation to eat less calories for a week and lose a pound or two. But what about the determination to do it for a month?
What about six months? Very few could and can do it.
Weight loss is the simple act of consuming less calories than you burn. Actually being successful at losing weight on the other hand is the difficult daily task of watching every calorie you put in your mouth, breaking habits you’ve built up over decades, resisting temptations, and making a conscious effort to burn more calories in your daily routine.
Tough, right? Absolutely.
Don’t be afraid to try and fail losing weight — it’s nothing to be ashamed about. I’d rather try and fail (and I did, numerous times) then not try at all. Like lottery players say — you can’t win if you don’t play. On the flip side, don’t take comfort in knowing that losing weight is hard and use that as an excuse to not try or stop trying to lose weight.
Losing weight is hard, but so what?
