(I use the physical activity tracker Fitbit, which tracks how many calories you burn on a daily basis.  It provided all of the data and graphics above.)

While I was pleased with how things were going last week, after taking a step back and looking at the big picture — I’m actually less than pleased.  I don’t judge or blame myself for having a lax birthday, but the last several days have been pretty lax.  I’ve burned a lot of calories (yardwork and basketball), but none of that matters much if I can’t keep the calories I consume down.

Overall, I’m pretty sick of hovering around 210 pounds.

If this makes sense, and hopefully it does, but the fact that I’m able to lose weight keeps me from actually biting the bullet and putting the work/effort into losing the weight.  I could reach 200 pounds, but I allow myself to postpone it.  Oftentimes I’ll go, “Sure, I can eat this, because I know that as soon as I’m ready I can lose the weight pretty quickly.”

And I can, as can you, just by counting calories.

I’m done hovering around 210 pounds.  Done.  I know there’s a “decent” looking body (how do I say that without being conceited?) under all of this fat.  I have a decent frame and some muscles to boot — just too much fat.

By the time I turn 28, I promise you I won’t look anything like I do in the pictures above.
