How to Lose Weight Over Thanksgiving
As usual this time of year, there has been a mad dash of “how to lose weight over Thanksgiving dinner/weekend” articles and segments in magazines, newspapers, and local news broadcasts full of stupid, counter-productive tips and tricks.
If you’re in this for the long-term, this being an attempt to lose weight through counting calories, controlling portion sizes, and practicing moderation, then forget about moderation tomorrow. It’s Thanksgiving. This isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyle. I don’t want to live a life that involves watching what I eat on Thanksgiving.
While I don’t keep track of the days, there are probably 20-30 days out of the year where I eat whatever — my birthday, New Year’s Eve, Christmas, Thanksgiving, a few parties here and there, summer vacation, etc. That’s a couple of days a month.
Enjoy your calories with friends and family tomorrow — no counting.
