Congratulations on your weightloss. I too, have a lot of weight to lose. I need to loose at least 150 pounds. Just looking at the 3 figure number makes it harder to think I can even lose a pound. But looking at your blog gives me hope. Keep up the good work.

Hello I came across your blog and like you I was overweight. I was constantly fighting the urge to lose weight but, then in march of this year I decided it was time to lose weight. I weighed in at 242lbs on March 12th 2010.Although I do have a large broad shoulders naturally. I was the type of person to consume 3000 calories a day by drinking tons of sweet tea and soda. I mean I went through a 5lb bag of sugar within a week so it was pretty bad. But, anyhow I decided to cut out ALL soda and sweet tea meaning no more sugar. I started drinking plain water nothing added to it. I quit eating fast food and quit eating all fried foods...I even stopped eating ground beef instead I took it upon myself to try turkey burgers and believe it or not they are awesome if seasoned right. But, I don't fry anything anymore.I consume alot of chicken breast and low calorie foods. It's been 3 months now and I am down to 206.5 lbs. So, I've lost all that weight by just watching my calorie intake and cutting out all white breads it has worked for me well...Anyhow great job I know from a personal view it's really hard to commit to losing weight just have faith and you'll be able to do it...

Whoaaa Cyndee.. under a 100 lbs at 5' 61/2" is the other end of the scale... pardon the pun!

I need to lose weight too but you need to be sensible about it... I don't mean this as an insult. Thanks to stumbling on this website I realize I need to act now while I am still healthy enough to do it... I have to stop procrastinating and come to terms with the fact I NEED to do this for myself. I currently weigh 219 lbs at 5' 8" and I NEED to get down to between 140 and 150 lbs... I don't want to be too small either. I used to be at the 'other end' weighing 109 lbs. I was so happy I gained weight, I just kept on doing it and now I am overweight.

Tyler, you are a living testament as to what will power, perseverance and being a realist can make a person accomplish.
Thank you Tyler for having the 'gumption' to take us with you on every step of your journey.

My husband was always obese and besides diabetes, developed osteo, rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. He weighed 387 lbs and is 6' 1". Now he is down to 248 lbs... but... he is in a wheelchair permanently because of the 3 arthritis' that he developed. Also, my sister-in-law was 354 lbs. at 5'2" and she now weighs 86 lbs and is now an anorexic. Last week we found her on her floor and had to have her rushed to the hospital with a dangerously low blood pressure. She has some heart damage. She is obsessed about still being 'too fat' as she puts it. Cyndee, as well as being too big, too small is not healthy either. Please think healthy about how much more you want to lose. You have done fantastic so don't waste your accomplishment by remaining on the unhealthy side of things by becoming too small. Take care of your self...

WOW Congrats!!!! I feel sooo guilty, 5 years ago I had a gastric bypass, I was weighing in @ 376... OMG I was soo FAT and unhealthy.. I now weigh in at 157 . I love that I am almost normal size now... I'm 5'6 1/2 so I'm still fat... I want to lose another 60lbs but its hard at this point because alot of my fat is actually hanging skin from all the weight that I lost... I plan to loose the rest of this weight following your wonderful example... We are all envious and proud of you ... at the same time :-) ... I now have a goal and a plan to take me there... thank you and God Bless. I don't eat bread or sugar or meat... so I'm sure it will be rough for me to lose it as fast as I'd like to... I just want to be under 100lbs for once in my life.
